France, 18th Century. At the dawn of the French Revolution, gastronomy still is a prerogative of the aristocrats. The prestige of a noble house depends above all on the quality of the food it serves for its guests. When talented chef Manceron is fired by the Duke of Chamfort, he loses his taste for cooking. Back in his country house, he meets Louise, a mysterious lady who gets him back on his feet. While they both feed a desire for revenge against the Duke, they decide to create the very first restaurant in France.
十八世紀的法國正迎來大革命，然而，美食這回事依舊為精英貴族階層所專有。只有桌上款客的美酒佳餚才能維持一個顯赫貴族的名氣。尚福公爵家的廚子 Manceron 雖匠心獨運，卻因一次意外飯碗不保。為此他喪失了對烹飪的興趣。回到鄉間的小屋，他遇見了一位神秘女子 Louise。她讓 Manceron 重新振作。又因他們對公爵都感到同仇敵愾，想要報復，因緣際會之下二人創辦了法國第一家餐廳。
