In the 1980s in northeastern France, two teenagers, Clotaire and Jackie, fall deeply in love between the high school benches and the harbour docks. Their love story faces many challenges, especially their different social backgrounds. The boy ends up becoming a criminal and spends 12 years in prison. Life will do its utmost to keep them apart, but it's no use: these two are like the two ventricles of the same heart… After his release, Clotaire is determined to win Jackie back.
